Case Study

St. Norbert College Mulva Studio

One of the top ten Catholic liberal arts colleges in the country sought to convert an unfinished basement of its 4-year old $20 million library into an innovation studio for student collaboration.

Elevate97 assessed the site while studying the college’s brand and mission. Understanding that the college wished to integrate its history while creating an environment for future-thinking and innovation, the design team reviewed the college’s design and positioning. The team also spent time with the architect to ensure appropriate scope and application.

The lower-level of the Mulva Studio is now one of the most popular collaboration spots on campus. It has already housed competitions and innovation seminars, and is now a must-see stop on the College’s admission tour. The donors are thrilled with the design and the administration shares that it has continued to build upon an intentional innovative culture at St. Norbert College.
