Love is power.
Our ability to love is power.
In every story ever told, there is always an element of love.
In every song ever written, there is an element of love.
As I’m writing this, the words to a favorite Beatle’s song comes to mind…
“There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done.
Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game.
Nothing you can make that can’t be made.
No one you can save that can’t be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time.
It’s easy. All you need is love.”
I believe those lyrics. It’s just like the title says, “All You Need Is Love”.
Love matters and love is present in everything we do. The lack of it or the fulfillment of it…love is always there. When we stand just far enough outside of it, it’s incredible to think about the full spectrum of this word.
In this instance, I’m not talking about the deep and passionate love we might harbor for a partner or the bonds that span across the years of a personal friendship. What I’m talking about is the root beginning of love.
Love in its most basic form is our sense of human decency. It’s a way of honoring and respecting one another. It’s our understanding that it is important to recognize the value of another human life other than our own.
And we exercise this every day.
Each day is another opportunity to begin with purpose. I often speak to the importance of recognizing our individual sense of purpose because in recognizing my own sense of purpose, I have found a constant source for inspiring enthusiasm, commitment and personal determination.
My purpose is to begin each day with love.
Love for self. Love for others. Love for the possibility that each new day holds.
Play for the long game. Choose that which will sustain you and the people around you.
Begin from love, begin in power. Continue in love, continue in power.
